Atlantis submarine

Atlantis Adventures operates the world’s largest fleet of passenger submarines, and one of the most technologically advanced. The 48-passenger submarine, Atlantis XII, offers you the opportunity to experience why Cozumel is still one of the world’s dive destinations.

The most submarine explores the biggest wreck in the area, Felipe Xicoténcatl, a 154-foot long boat sank in 2000 for the purpose of improving marine life in Cozumel’s coral reefs. It was formerly a minesweeper of the United States Navy, and sold to the Mexican Navy in 1962 for the rescue and patrol missions. The shipwreck is 55 to 80 feet deep and like houses of fish, sponges and soft corals, mainly.

The submarine is powered by air conditioning battery, and free from pressure problems. The expert crew improves their underwater adventure with narrations.
